For hunters

Field care before you bring a skull

This is general care for a head that is headed for a European mount. If yours was already cut a different way, call or message and describe it before you drive over.

  • Keep the head cool. If you cannot drop it off the same day, freeze it.
  • Leave the skull whole, with the antlers on. A European mount uses the skull. Do not saw the antlers off the skull plate if this is the mount you want.
  • You do not need a shoulder cape for this service. The hide can come off. Avoid cutting into the bone.
  • Skip bleach, boiling, and home whitening. That can damage the bone and the antler bases. He cleans and whitens it.
  • A bag or tote is enough. Call or message before you come so the drop-off time is set.

Later

Full taxidermy coming soon

European mounts are the work you can bring in now. Full taxidermy, including shoulder mounts, is planned for later. Nothing on this page sets a date. Call or message if you want to ask when that starts.
